ALEXANDER V. IVANOV

Head of the lab (2019-present), deputy director for science (2021-present)

Alex obtained B.Sc. in chemistry in 2003 at School of chemistry of Moscow State University (MSU). In 2006 he obtained Ph.D. in molecular biology at the Engelhardt institute of molecular biology in the lab of Prof. Marina Kukhanova. Alex did his postdoc in the lab of Prof. Sergey Kochetkov at the same institute. In 2022 Alex defended a Dr.Sc. thesis (habilitation) in molecular biology. ORCID, Google scholar.

OLGA A. SMIRNOVA

Research fellow

Olga obtained B.Sc. in inorganic chemistry at RUDN University, M.Sc. in chemistry at the Mendeleev university of chemical technology, and Ph.D. in molecular biology at the Engelhardt institute of molecular biology (Alex Ivanov group).

OLGA N. IVANOVA

Olga obtained B.Sc. in chemistry at School of chemistry of Moscow State University (MSU) and Ph.D. in molecular biology at the Institute of gene biology of the Russian academy of science (prof. S. Razin lab).

VLADIMIR VALUEV-ELLISTON

Research fellow

Vladimir obtained B.Sc. in chemistry at School of chemistry of Moscow State University (MSU) and Ph.D. in molecular biology at the Engelhardt institute of molecular biology (prof. S. Kochetkov lab).

ANNA GAVLINA

M.S. student

Anna is a last-year student of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University (RNIMU). She came to the lab in 2021. Anna’s project is investigation of the role of acetylpolyamine oxidase (APAO/PAOX) in maintaining polyamine homeostasis characterization of its isoforms.

VYACHESLAV FEDOROV

B.Sc. student

Slava joined the lab when he was a high-school student. His current projects include bioinformatic analysis of datasets generated by the lab. ORCID.

ALENA PILIPUSHKO

B.Sc. student

Alena is a student of MIREA — Russian Technological University. She joined our lab in 2021. Alena studies interference of hepatitis delta virus with amino acid metabolism.

MARTIN ZENOV

B.Sc. student

Martin is a student of Virology department, School of biology of the Moscow State University. He joined our lab in the fall 2022. Martin studies interference of poliovirus with metabolic pathways of host cells and role of these changes in its oncolytic activity towards glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).

SOFIA NEFEDOROVA

B.Sc. student

Sofia is a student of Virology department, School of biology of the Moscow State University. She works on a joint project of our and Prof. Peter Chumakov’s labs on oncolytic viruses and modulation of oncolysis by the inhibitors of metabolic enzymes.
